Leilani Kai is an “Old Style” Ladies Pro Wrestler!
Born in 1960, we guess you could say that Leilani Kai is one of the great ones.
To make things even MORE GREAT her name was given to her by the Fabulous Moolah.
Because Moolah thought that Leilani Kai (real name Patty Seymour) looked Hawaiian!
In 1975, following her high school graduation, Leilani immediately joined Moolah and was trained by her.
The rest is history……….as they say.
First, she defeated Moolah and ended Moolah’s 28 Year Reign as Champion!
Standing at 5’7″ and weighing in somewhere in the 130lbs range at the time, Leilani Kai is a woman who defended the Women’s Championship in the VERY FIRST Wrestlemania against Wendi Richter. (known as Bambi)
Famous tag teams she was a part of included the Rock “n” Wrestling connection with the aforementioned Moolah.
She then formed one half of the tag team named the Glamour Girls with Judy Martin.
Then, she came back years later and challenged for the Women’s Championship once again at Wrestlemania 10 as she returned against Alundra Blayze (Medusa) in a match she did not win. She would go on to face Medusa in matches in WCW, but was unsuccessful in defeating Madusa in that wrestling promotion as well.
All told it’s said that Medusa handed her well over 20 losses!
She has trained a large swath of Women Wrestlers you have seen over the last few decades. She became one of the head trainers at WOW – Women of Wrestling – the promotion spearheaded by David McLane and Jeanie Buss.
It’s been said this woman trains with nunchucks, enjoys deep sea fishing, riding motorcycles, and she even hunts wild boar!

It was said she was sad later in her career about the T&A culture that took over the business and she is very much all about the old school style of Women’s Wrestling and that’s the style she tried to pass on to her students according to various writings around the internet.
